Q: How easy is it to get a mortgage for my Spanish property?
A: Mortgages from local Spanish banks are readily available on good terms. The developer has usually arranged construction finance on an individual property basis and this can be continued by the buyer on revised terms.
Q: What would be typical terms for the above type of Spanish mortgage?
A: The bank can generally arrange a 25-year mortgage at 75-80% of the valuation, subject to status. Their valuation is normally at or near the purchase price.
Q: How long will it take to arrange a mortgage?
A: Subject to the valuation, which usually takes 4 – 6 weeks, offers are usually available within 48 hours.
